The project covers the infrastructural modernization of the existing airside facilities of the airport, which is established on an area of 421.96 hectares. Within this scope, a total of 944,830 m² of runway and apron areas will be reconstructed, along with 367,990 m² of surface rehabilitation works.
The Almaty International Airport, First Development Phase of Airside Infrastructure Project consists of the reconstruction of a 332,800 m² concrete runway, construction of a 319,600 m² parallel taxiway and service roads, development of a new 160,780 m² cargo apron, reconstruction of a 56,590 m² VIP apron and 90,130 m² de-icing aprons, as well as a total of 944,830 m² of runway and apron works and 367,990 m² of surface rehabilitation, all within a 421.96-hectare project area.
