By winning the tender issued by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ) in 2003 under the Build-Operate-Transfer model for the construction and operation of the International Terminal of Dalaman Airport, YDA Group has been operating the terminal since 2006. The group increased the terminal’s annual total passenger capacity to 10,000,000 and the total aircraft parking positions to 35. Dalaman International Airport, which has received numerous national and international awards including the “AR Awards for Emerging Architecture,” is also ranked as the 13th most beautiful airport in the world.
In addition to Dalaman International Airport, YDA Group has made a significant mark in the aviation sector through major projects such as the operation of Aktau International Airport in Kazakhstan, the successful completion of construction works for Turkistan International Airport, Kyiv Boryspil International Airport in Ukraine, Hatay International Airport, Diyarbakır International Airport, and THY Technic Aviation Maintenance and Repair Center (HABOM), one of the world’s prominent aviation maintenance and repair hubs.
A Mega Investment Exceeding 1 Billion Euros
In the tender held by DHMİ on March 7, 2014, YDA Group submitted the highest bid and acquired the operating rights for both the domestic and international terminals of Dalaman International Airport for a 26-year period. Already operating the international terminal since 2006, YDA Group took over the operation rights for both terminals for a total of €705 million + VAT. The Group signed a €162 million Investment Loan Agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and UniCredit Bank to finance the construction of the New Terminal Building, which was completed and opened for service in July 2018, benefiting the local community, Turkey’s tourism sector, and the national economy. With an investment value of €250 million for the new terminal and a total acquisition cost of €831.9 million including VAT for the operating rights of the terminals, YDA Group has made a total investment exceeding €1 billion for Dalaman International Airport.
